Captain America: Brave New World swaps out Steve Rogers for Sam Wilson as we march toward the end of Marvel Phase Five. Anthony Mackie steps up as our new Captain Sam as he confronts corruption deep within the U.S. government.
Before long, Sam finds himself pitted against President Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross (Harrison Ford) who is destined to become the Red Hulk. The movie ties into the events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series while threading in significant new characters including an earlier super-soldier, Carl Lumbly, played by Isaiah Bradley.
As you'd expect from a Marvel movie, the action is big, loud and needs to be experienced in special formats for maximum effect (IMAX, 4DX, ScreenX and Superscreen). The cast, led by Mackie is also teeming and includes Top Gun: Maverick star Danny Ramirez as Sam's wingman Joaquin Torres aka the new Falcon.
We caught up with both Anthony and Danny to talk through the making of the movie, and we also got them to take our bespoke Cineworld bravery test, complete with authentic Captain America shield paddles.
