Secret Screaming 12 turned out to be the enjoyably twisted horror movie Cuckoo and we've curated some of the reactions from our special preview screening. Rising star Hunter Schafer (The Hunger Games; Kinds of Kindness) plays American teenager Gretchen who experiences life-changing terror when she and her family move to a remote Bavarian hotel resort. Said terror is primarily embodied via Dan Stevens' memorably bonkers, German-accented owner Herr Konig.
The movie, directed by Tilman Singer (helmer of the well-received 2018 German horror Luz) brims with a sense of slow-burn paranoia, surreal scares and blackly comic humour. Read the reactions and discover why Cuckoo will have horror fans singing this August.
Cuckoo certainly didn't disappoint, the psychological horror in this film works great and the creepiness of the "Cuckoo" just works perfectly. Hunter Schafer is great in her role and Dan Stevens really steals the scenes he is in. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Really enjoyed it. Been a bit jaded with American horror recently but this felt fresh and original. Very creepy and atmospheric and some terrific performances. Premise is kind of bonkers but it kept me guessing throughout

Pure bonkers, genuinely funny and some of the horror was seriously tense.
Acting also top notch, can tell Hunter and Dan were having the time of their lives.
