Unlimited My Cineworld Sync FAQ

Why do I need to sync my Unlimited card to a My Cineworld account? 

In order to increase the online security of your Unlimited membership, you will now need to sync your card to a new or existing My Cineworld account in order to use your Unlimited card to book tickets online. For security reasons, you will need to sync your accounts even if you had previously done this already.

Once your accounts are synced, you will be able to book tickets online using your Unlimited card, order replacement cards if your card gets lost or stolen, update your personal details if needed, and more.

Please note you need to be over 16 to sign up to My Cineworld. If you pay for an Unlimited member who is less than 16 years old, keep scrolling to find out how to manage their Unlimited membership online.

How do I sync My Cineworld and my Unlimited membership?

It’s simple! Just follow the step by step instructions below.

Step 1: Login or Register for a My Cineworld account

Step 2: Visit the Unlimited tab in your My Cineworld account

Step 3: In the box provided, enter your Unlimited card number to request a sync email which we will send to the email address linked to your Unlimited membership

Step 4: Check your email inbox (including your spam folder) for an email from [email protected] which will have your unique sync URL

Step 5: Click the unique sync URL to be redirected to your My Cineworld account. Please note that you will be prompted to login or register to complete the sync process unless you’re still logged in

Step 6: Click the Complete Sync button

What happens if I pay for someone under 16? 

Due to age restrictions, we do not allow anyone under the age of 16 to manage their own Unlimited account. If you are the payee for the Unlimited membership of someone under 16, you will be able to manage their account on their behalf until they turn 16. This will allow you to manage their Friends & Family requests so you are able to book tickets for them online using their Unlimited card.

How do I manage an Unlimited account for someone under 16 years old?

It is only possible to add an Unlimited account for someone under 16 years of age through ‘Managed Accounts’. To get started, you first need to sync your own Unlimited card to a My Cineworld account following the instructions above. Once that’s done, you can add the Unlimited account for someone under 16 by following the below step-by-step instructions: 

Step 1: Login or Register for a My Cineworld account

Step 2: Visit the Unlimited Unlimited tab in your My Cineworld account

Step 3: Scroll down to Unlimited Friends & Family: Managed Accounts

Step 4: Click Add Managed Unlimited Account and add the Unlimited card number of the person under 16 years of age

Step 5: Check your email inbox (including your spam folder) for an email from [email protected] which will have the unique sync URL

Step 6: Click the unique sync URL to be redirected to your My Cineworld account. Please note that you will be prompted to login or register to complete the sync process unless you’re still logged in

Step 7: If your managed account uses the same email address as your own Unlimited membership, you will be asked to use an alternative email address to finish the sync process. This email address will be used for the My Cineworld account once the U16 member turns 16.

Step 7: Click the Finish Sync button 

What happens when they turn 16? 

Once the Unlimited member turns 16 years old they will be able to create a My Cineworld account and request sync of their Unlimited membership.

What is the Friends & Family list? 

The Friends & Family list is a new security measure to reduce the number of fraudulent Unlimited bookings being made without the knowledge of the Unlimited member. You will now not be able to book tickets online using an Unlimited card unless they have given you permission. You need to be an Unlimited member yourself to be added to someone’s Friends & Family list. This will allow you to book tickets online using their Unlimited card. If you want someone else to be able to book tickets for you with your Unlimited card, they will need to add you to their Friends & Family list. It’s quick, easy and only needs to be done once! 

How do I add people to my Friends and Family list? 

Once your Unlimited card is synced to a My Cineworld account, you will have the option in your My Cineworld Account to send a request to be added to another Unlimited member’s Friends & Family list. They will receive an email asking them to accept this request, which would allow you to book Cineworld tickets using their Unlimited card.

Step 1: Login to your My Cineworld account

Step 2: Visit the Unlimited tab in your My Cineworld account

Step 3: Scroll down to Unlimited Friends & Family

Step 4: Click Add Unlimited Friends & Family

Step 5: Enter your friend’s name and email address to send them an invite

Step 6: Your friend will receive an email invite asking them to accept your Friend Request. They can do this by logging into the Unlimited tab in their My Cineworld account, where your invite will be waiting for them

Step 7: Once your Friend has accepted your request, you will be able to select their Unlimited card during a booking by clicking Add Friends & Family and selecting the (+) symbol to add them to your booking selection

Can I still book tickets for someone using their Unlimited card if I am not also an Unlimited member?

This is not currently possible. Friends & Family verification is currently not accessible for non-Unlimited members.
