The stars of Alien: Romulus on what it means to be a part of the Alien legacy

We caught up with Alien: Romulus stars Archie Renaux and Spike Fearn to discuss their involvement in the spine-tingling new xenomorph horror.

Fede Alvarez directs the movie, which takes place between the events of Ridley Scott's Alien (1979) and James Cameron's Aliens (1986). Renaux and Fearn play two of the unsuspecting deep-space colonists who become hosts for the most hideous organism in the universe, a terrifying series of events that unleashes all manner of slimy, acid-blooded horror to the delight of long-term Alien fans.

Horror is uniquely suited to the big screen and the long-running Alien saga is no exception. From the prowling, shadowy cinematography to the onslaught of practical creature effects, there's nothing quite like the experience of jumping and jolting in a packed audience full of rapt Alien fans.

We asked the two actors about the uniquely immersive qualities of the new Alien chiller and why the film demands the big screen experience. They also discuss the significance of becoming part of the legacy of this long-running and memorably horrific outer space saga.

Want more Alien content? We also sat down with Fede Alvarez himself to discuss his journey making Alien: Romulus. The horror specialist, who's already responsible for the Evil Dead remake and Don't Breathe, highlights the immersive capabilities of IMAX sound to lend greater resonance to the life-cycle of the menacing xenomorphs.
