We're bringing several huge blockbusters back to the big screen for Cineworld IMAX Film Fest 2025. Tickets are now on sale, and they're just £5 (plus an online booking fee), which means you can absorb all the eye-widening, breathtaking IMAX spectacle for less.

Several of the biggest movies from the last 12 months come roaring back to the big screen on March 15th at Cineworld cinemas nationwide. This is a one-day-only event, so don't miss your chance to fill an otherwise ordinary day with the kind of jaw-dropping magic that comes with the big-screen experience. And all for just £5 a ticket!

Excited? Keep scrolling to discover five reasons why you need to make space in your calendar for this year's IMAX Film Fest.

1. Experience the majesty of IMAX for less

If you've experienced IMAX before, you know you're in for a treat. If you haven't, let us explain what you're in for and how it takes movie-going to the next level.

IMAX deploys a unique remastering process and dual projection for the perfect balance of warmth and sharpness that will take your breath away. Larger-than-usual screens combine with pin-sharp digital resolution to draw out every visual facet and nuance. Put simply, movies don't look better than this. The visual sharpness and clarity fully transform every frame to produce the best possible version of a filmmaker’s vision.

And the visuals are just the start. We all know that movies owe just as much impact to their sound design and music. Our IMAX auditoriums have also been equipped with a perfectly tuned integrated sound and speaker system for heart-pounding audio that will truly blow you away. You're not meant to watch the movie so much as to feel its impact from your cinema seat.

The fact that tickets are just £5 per film is the icing on the cake. Who could possibly resist a special format movie presentation for less?

2. Sing out loud with your fellow Wicked fans

Defy gravity in your local IMAX screen and look to the Western sky as you celebrate the return of the blockbuster musical Wicked. We all know that Wicked is a communal experience in which fans share the love (and the singing!), so get together in a spirit of solidarity and fun akin to the relationship between Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Galinda (Ariana Grande).

Savour the film's biggest set-pieces in expansive IMAX, from the arrival at the school of Madame Morrible (Michelle Yeoh) to the slow-burn emergence of Elphaba's destiny. Revel in the hue of greens and pinks arranged by director Jon. M Chu and his crew. And listen as the IMAX sound system brings greater clarity to the classic Stephen Schwartz songs, musically adapted into underscore by the Oscar-nominated composer John Powell.

3. Share the emotion of The Wild Robot with your fellow Cineworlders

Take flight in IMAX with one of 2024's best family movie experiences, The Wild Robot. Director Chris Sanders adapts Peter Brown's bestselling book with care and empathy, bringing us the story of the lonely robot Roz (Lupita Nyong'o) as she becomes a surrogate mother to the orphaned gosling Brightbill (Kit Connor).

The movie is resplendent in the kind of sweep and autumnal colours that demand the IMAX experience. The size of the screen is also set to amplify the deep-seated emotions of the story as love and affection cross the species divide in a manner that speaks to all of us. The one thing about IMAX: it may be harder to hide those tears in a massive auditorium full of people...

4. Experience the worlds of Marvel and Ridley Scott in greater detail

IMAX is all about magnification, and massive blockbusters are uniquely designed for this format. Worlds both real and imagined become taller, wider and more captivating, and we're invited to reckon with the physical scale of the productions put together by the industry's leading filmmakers.

Two of 2024's biggest blockbusters, Deadpool & Wolverine and Gladiator II, are playing at the 2025 IMAX Film Fest. The former zips in and out of hidden corners of the MCU, from the TVA headquarters to the void where the brash Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and the haunted Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) find themselves washed out.

Ridley Scott's sequel to his Oscar-winning Gladiator emboldens the presentation of the Roman Empire, utilising every drop of its $200 million budget to that visual effects, costume, production design and cinematography communicate the might of ancient antiquity. It exemplifies Scott's long-standing reputation as a cinematic worldbuilder, nowhere more so than in the scenes set in the blood-soaked Colosseum.

5. Catch up on movies you may have missed... or can't wait to see again

If you share fond memories of watching these movies in 2024, being awestruck and overwhelmed in the best possible way, then it's a chance to relive the big-screen magic all over again. We're delighted to give film fans a chance to reunite with their favourite movies via the medium of the IMAX Film Fest.

That said, if you somehow missed most or all of these movies, then this is the chance to make amends in the best possible way. You can enjoy massive films in the best possible format with cutting-edge projection and sound – and all for a low price. Who could possibly ask for more?
