The acclaimed local documentary returns on a double anniversary: 75 years since the end of Eston mine and 20 years since the film was first shown to sell out crowds. The film tells the story of how the discovery of ironstone on Eston hills in 1850 sparked an industrial explosion that transformed Teesside into the iron-making capital of the world. The blood, sweat and sacrifice of the Eston miners fuelled the furnaces for a century before closure in 1949. Featuring re-enactment, archive film and interviews with the last of the mining community, the film is a digital monument for all time. Director: Craig Hornby
