Feel the terror with A Quiet Place: Day One in special formats IMAX, 4DX, ScreenX and Superscreen

A Quiet Place: Day One arrives at Cineworld this June. It's the prequel to the A Quiet Place chillers, exploring what happens in New York when the Earth is invaded by aliens that hunt via sound. Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong'o leads the cast of the film, which expands the scale of the earlier John Krasinski movies while also preserving the same level of breathless suspense.

Feel properly immersed in the terror with special format presentations in IMAX, 4DX, ScreenX and Superscreen, three of which are exclusive to Cineworld. Scroll down to find out more and book your tickets.

Hear a pin drop with all-encompassing IMAX sound

IMAX's larger-than-usual screens combine with a unique remastering process. The visual sharpness and clarity fully transform every frame to produce the best possible version of a filmmaker’s vision. This is what you want from A Quiet Place: Day One, which takes place amid a bustling, skyscraper-laden metropolis that is set to look even more overwhelming and imposing in IMAX.

With dual projection, the IMAX image has the perfect balance of warmth and sharpness. The format is as close a simulation of reality as you could hope to find, and this is set to make the menace even more profound.

Of course, it's the IMAX sound that will fully transform your experience of A Quiet Place: Day One. In the movie, characters must hold their breath at all costs and the film encourages the viewing audience to do the same. This will help you take in the nuances of the sound design and music, which are amplified by a perfectly tuned integrated sound and speaker system. Every footstep, creak and wrong move are set to sound thunderous when presented in IMAX.

4DX makes you feel the impact of the aliens' arrival

The A Quiet Place series is famous for its immersive levels of visceral horror. That's where 4DX steps in to take your viewing experience to the next level.

The 4DX multi-sensory format is unique to Cineworld cinemas in the UK and Ireland. Motion-programmed seats are timed to every facet of the aliens' arrival on Earth, which is signalled by a meteor shower that crashes into the New York streets. 4DX promises to amplify these moments as well as the later ones once the creatures are established as a dominant force: your moving seat will invest greater tangibility into the film's jumpy moments.

Scents and effects, including rain and wind, will help you feel the desolation of a world turned upside down by a threat no-one expected. From the safety and comfort of your cinema seat, 4DX draws on its ability to make one feel the impact of the characters' raw survival instincts.

To reiterate, 4DX is an experience wholly unique to Cineworld. Find out more about 4DX in the following clip.

ScreenX will surround you on all sides with 270-degree madness

ScreenX, another Cineworld exclusive, employs an enveloping 270-degree effect that projects the film onto the side walls of the auditorium. The movie subsequently extends beyond your peripheral vision to put you in the heart of the horror.

If you've never experienced ScreenX, watch the following clip and discover why 270-degree vision is the way to go.

Superscreen expands director Michael Sarnoski's vision and makes it feel like a masterpiece

Unique to Cineworld, Superscreen fuses state-of-the-art projection, delivered on huge screens, with breathtaking multidimensional sound powered by epic Dolby Atmos speakers. In other words, it'll make you feel like you're there, standing alongside Lupita Nyong'o's beleaguered central character Sam as fights for survival against the fearsome creatures.

All the essential information about Superscreen can be discovered in this video.
