Thought you were done with the Captain America mythology? Think again. It's been announced that director Julius Onah will be helming Captain America 4, coming soon to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
When Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) used the Quantum Realm to head back in time at the close of Avengers: Endgame, it compelled his cohort The Falcon/Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) to step up to the plate. Several adventures with Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) later, and Wilson is ready to head up his own Captain Ameria movie.
Onah is the director of the acclaimed psychological drama Luce, starring Kelvin Harrison Jr., and the not-so-acclaimed Cloverfield spin-off The Cloverfield Paradox. Onah will be collaborating with The Falcon and The Winter Soldier writer Malcolm Spellman, plus that show's scriber Dalan Musson, to bring Sam Wilson's nascent Captain America adventure to the screen.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the title isn't merely a symbolic gesture. Wilson will indeed be ditching the mantle of The Falcon to carry the vibranium shield in his role as America's most patriotic super-soldier. Of course, this was all but confirmed at the close of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, but it's good to see it confirmed for the big screen.
