The story picks up 300 years after the death of Caesar (Andy Serkis) in War for the Planet of the Apes (2017). While ape culture has evolved, human beings have regressed, but compassionate young ape Noa (Owen Teague) then makes a connection with feral girl Nova (Freya Allen). However, he is pitted against emergent warlord Proximus Caesar (Kevin Durand) who wants to seize power for himself.
