Unlimited members share the love for Tom Hanks and his new movie Here

What if you could trace the history of human existence from one fixed location? High-concept drama Here tests this intriguing notion, occupying a static position across thousands of years from primordial evolution to modern man. The story eventually settles on one family, played across the various generations by Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, Paul Bettany and Kelly Reilly, exploring their multifaceted ups and downs as their destinies are sculpted in front of our eyes.

It's the latest movie from director Robert Zemeckis who is renowned for his technically ambitious and narratively witty projects. Zemeckis has always pushed the boundaries, from the time-travelling DeLorean in the Back to the Future trilogy to the altered historical news footage in the Oscar-winning Forrest Gump, the blend of animation and live-action in Who Framed Roger Rabbit to the CG enhancements in the Hitchcockian thriller What Lies Beneath.

Zemeckis adapts Richard McGuire's acclaimed graphic novel in collaboration with Forrest Gump screenwriter Eric Roth. Throw in Gump stars Hanks and Wright, plus Zemeckis' regular composer Alan Silvestri, and you're promised a nostalgic experience that poetically illustrates the vagaries of our day-to-day lives. Here deploys de-ageing effects to depict younger iterations of Hanks and Wright, further reinforcing the passage of time.
