Zac Efron gives a career-best performance in the powerful wrestling drama The Iron Claw. This passionate look at the von Erich wrestling dynasty played in advance for Unlimited members and their reactions will no doubt incentivize you to go and see it.
Efron plays Kevin von Erich, one of four von Erich brothers including Kerry (Jeremy Allen White) and David (Harris Dickinson). The movie explores the bonds of loyalty forged between the siblings both inside and outside of the wrestling ring, plus the overbearing influence of their domineering father Fritz (Holt McCallany).
The excellent ensemble cast is marshalled by noted indie director Sean Durkin who scored a critical hit in 2012 with the atmospheric Martha Marcy May Marlene. The Iron Claw offers an opportunity to see Efron as one has never seen him before, and it's also a showcase for fast-rising stars White and Dickinson.
Unlimited members got stuck into the variously inspiring and tragic history of the von Erich family and here are some of their responses.
Incredible. As a big wrestling fan I loved it. The final 30 minutes left me without words. 1000% recommend this pic.twitter.com/rRy6MXh7ni

1st WATCH-#TheIronClaw. Well acted drama charting the rise & fall of brothers who are wrestlers, trained by their EXTREMELY overbearing father. Efron & McCallany impress the most & arguably should’ve had more awards attention. Some pacing issues but great overall. 4/5. pic.twitter.com/FXrZJMS3bz

Fantastic movie, a rollercoaster of a ride from start to finish and rather emotional (make sure you have tissues). Zac Efron should have had an #Oscars Nomination for his role in the film. May just have to go see it again when it's released.

It was ever so well made and yet another very shocking backstory for the Von Erich family and brothers in general. The performances were ever so phenomenal, @ZacEfron, Jeremy Allen White certainly gave strong breakthrough performances. Overall Score: 9/10! Grade: A!!! 😁😁😁

Not a big wrestling fan so I didn’t know anything about the story but superb performances all round drew me into it. Powerful stuff - Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White were standouts! As a big brother the ending really hit home too…
